We have had the opportunity to visit many villages throughout
Belarus, and the following pictures represent only a sampling of
what the villages have to offer tourists. Many of the wooden
homes in the villages were rebuilt after the war but remain in
pre-war designs, giving tourists an opportunity to enjoy the
color, warmth, and closeness of village life as it was several
generations ago.
In general, the people have a certain Eastern European formality
but always with an air of friendliness and hospitality.
Considerable care is put into homes and public spaces with a
concern for cleanliness and order. While horse drawn farm
wagons can often be seen in the villages, the modern
construction of major cities like Minsk is very impressive and
comfortable..
